Statement on the resolution of the
ISKCON Governing Body Commission (GBC)
regarding Vaishnavi diksa-gurus.
November 12th 2019
The Krishna West Council (KWC) welcomes the recent GBC resolution granting qualified women the opportunity to serve ISKCON in the capacity of diksa-guru. Srila Prabhupada’s ambition for a globally relevant and impactful spiritual movement requires the strength and support of strong and dedicated spiritual teachers to inspire the diverse peoples of the world to pay serious attention to what ISKCON has to offer, and this resolution supports progress in that great work by empowering a whole new demographic of committed and able spiritual ambassadors. We recognise though that more work needs to be done to fully empower those exceptional women in our movement who are willing and capable to take on this great service on behalf of Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON, and we look forward to further progress in this area. In the meantime, the Krishna West Council is eager to deploy all resources in the service of Srila Prabhupada’s mission in the West, and we invite all spiritual leaders, whether male or female, to get in touch with us to discuss how we may cooperate together to make further progress in this work.
Statement Letter for Bhagavati’s Manual

Dear devotees,
Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Sri Radha-Krishna.
The Krishna West Council would like to acknowledge our appreciation for the independent service Bhagavati devi dasi (Helena Figueira) has done by compiling the “Krishna West – Um Manual” in Portuguese, “Krishna West – A Manual” in English, and “Krishna West – Un Manual” in Spanish, but we would also like to clarify that her material is not to be considered official Krishna West guidelines or publication.
